Made In Space Welcomes NASA Administrator for Site Visit, Discuss Archinaut One Mission

Made In Space, Inc. (MIS) is pleased to welcome NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine for a site visit on Monday, August 26, at the company’s Moffett Field facility, located on NASA’s Ames Research Center campus.

NASA recently awarded MIS a $73.7 million contract for a flight demonstration mission of the company’s in-space robotic manufacturing and assembly platform, Archinaut One, to manufacture and assemble spacecraft components in low-Earth orbit.

During the site visit, Bridenstine will be joined by Jim Reuter, associate administrator of NASA’s Space Technology Mission Directorate. Andrew Rush, president and CEO at MIS, and Michael Snyder, chief engineer at MIS, will discuss the Archinaut One mission and showcase the company’s innovative space manufacturing technologies.

A limited number of media may attend the tour at 10:30 a.m. Following the tour, Bridenstine and Rush will give brief remarks and take questions.

Technology demonstrations will include:

  • Archinaut’s additive manufacturing and robotic assembly hardware
  • Extended structure additive manufacturing machine
  • Advanced reflector assembly
  • World’s longest 3D printed non-assembled piece
