International collaboration has long been a crucial part of working in the global economy. And as humanity begins to expand beyond the globe, cooperation between different nations will become more important. Redwire has a strong global presence and has been working with various international customers while operating facilities across Europe to support ambitious international space programs. However, building and maintaining international relationships is as challenging as it is important.
At the upcoming International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in Milan, Italy, the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) will present the 2024 IAF Excellence in International Cooperation Award to Redwire Chief Growth Officer Michael Gold at the IAC 2024 Opening Ceremony on Monday, October 14.
Since 2021, the IAF has presented its Excellence in International Cooperation Award has presented annual awards to people in the space sector who have shown excellence in the realm of promoting international cooperation.This award is in recognition of notable contributions toward international cooperation in space in a variety of fields such as space science, space technology, space medicine, space law, and space policy.
Gold, who is joined by Dr. Gabriella Arrigo of the Italian Space Agency in being one of this year’s awardees, is an expert in commercial space, space law, and space policy. Prior to joining Redwire, he served in several high-ranking roles at NASA where he advised the agency on space policy, international law, and international and interagency relations. In those roles, and at Redwire, Gold has been a strong supporter of the Artemis Accords, a set of multilateral agreements between the United States and other nations that aims at establishing norms and practices to support peaceful scientific and economic use of space.
Gold’s nomination for the IAF Excellence in International Cooperation Award highlights his contributions to international cooperation for Redwire, the space community, and humanity as a whole. This award also demonstrates Redwire’s ongoing commitment to international collaboration as humanity continues growing its presence in orbit and beyond.
