CompositesWorld: High strain composites for satellite applications

Roccor has always been on the cutting edge of creating technologies, applications, and solutions that are moving the space industry forward. Here’s a great article inCompositesWorld featuring Roccor’s Will Francis. It talks about our revolutionary approach to shifting the way satellite structures are created, and outlines our work with the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) at the Kirtland Force Base, in New Mexico. That’s where the U.S. developed high-strain composites (HSC) that improve the mass, complexity and cost of deployment systems. The AFRL worked with our team on solar array development systems and we’ve used HSC technology to create simpler, lighter and therefore lower cost deployment systems. Read the article here.
