Roll Out Solar Array (ROSA)

OVERVIEW

Redwire’s Innovative Roll Out Solar Array (ROSA) is a strong, lightweight, compact, modular, high performance solar array solution. Featuring a simple, modular, highly scalable design:

  • Composite Booms use strain energy to produce significant deployment force with no complex mechanisms. Once deployed, the Booms act as the primary structure with high deployed strength and stiffness.
  • The Modular Photovoltaic Blanket (IMBA) is manufactured with low cost highly efficient Solar Power Modules (SPM) and accommodates all PV types and sizes, and flexible concentrators. The rolled IMBA has no problems with stiction during deployment and the vibrational loads are substantially decoupled during launch.
