This month, the National Space Society (NSS), an independent, non-profit organization widely acknowledged as the preeminent citizen’s voice on space, elected a new committee of executive leaders. Redwire Chief Technology Officer Michael Snyder was elected to the position of Secretary of the NSS. Snyder is a long-standing member of NSS and currently serves on the NSS Board of Directors. He previously served on the Executive Committee as Assistant Secretary, a position he was appointed to in 2013.
The Executive Committee plays a critical role in the success of the many NSS advocacy initiatives. As NSS Secretary, Snyder will be responsible for maintaining the society’s records and will be a key voice on policy discussions, from NASA to industry to commercial and entrepreneurial spaceflight.
The NSS is an independent and non-profit organization dedicated to the creation of a spacefaring civilization. The society’s mission is “to promote social, economic, technological, and political change in order to expand civilization beyond Earth, to settle space, and to use the resulting resources to build a hopeful and prosperous future for humanity.” NSS’s important advocacy work has made it a critical resource for the space community.
Redwire congratulates the new NSS leaders and we look forward to seeing them advance the organization’s important mission.
