Redwire to Demonstrate Sustainable Lunar Manufacturing Technology

The farther humans go into deep space, the more important it will be to generate products with local materials. Discover how Redwire plans to reduce Earth delivery requirements and overall mission cost by enabling construction of infrastructure using space-based resources.

Lunar regolith is unconsolidated fragmented rock debris that covers almost all the Moon’s surface.  The ability to 3D print using regolith as a feedstock opens the door to on-demand construction of strong, durable structures on the lunar surface and on other planetary bodies.

Redwire is launching new manufacturing hardware to the International Space Station (ISS) that will demonstrate additive manufacturing processes using lunar regolith simulant. This demonstration is critical to advancing the ability to develop a permanent presence for humankind on the Moon.
